Daily Report on Violations of Human Rights in Syria: 06/08/2014

The death toll in Syria on Wednesday 6/08/2014 reached 50 deaths including seven children, four women and six killed under torture.

In the capital Damascus and its suburbs 14 civilians were killed; five were killed in clashes with government forces on the al-Maliha and al-Qalamoon fronts, two died from their wounds sustained in shelling on the towns of Douma and Kafr Batna on 3/08/2014, three from rural Damascus- among them a child – were killed as a result of shelling on the Arsal camp in Lebanon and two were killed as a result of the fall of two mortar shells from an unidentified source on the neighbourhoods of Damascus.

In Eastern Ghouta, a civilian was killed due to lack of medical supplies caused by the siege imposed on the region and one was killed under torture in security prisons.

Nine civilians were killed in Aleppo and its suburbs; four of them as a result of shelling on Karam Humad and Deir Hafir, two were killed in clashes in Khan Tuman and at the central prison front in the city and three women were killed as a result of the fall of a mortar shell by an unidentified source on al-Jabariya neighbourhood.

The total death toll in Homs reached nine civilians; four were killed as a result of shelling on Arsal camp in Lebanon among them a child and two civilians were killed as a result of shelling on al-Waer neighbourhood and the area of al-Qali’ in the suburbs. In addition three were killed under torture in security prisons.

The deaths of six civilians have been documented in Idlib; five died as a result of shelling among them were two children and one was killed under torture in regime prisons.

Additionally five civilians were killed in Daraa; two were killed in clashes with government forces and three children were killed as a result of shelling on the town of the province.

The deaths of five civilians have also been documented in Deir Azzour; one was shot by a sniper, another was killed in clashes in rural Damascus, three were executed in the city of al-Mayadin at the hands of the ISIS and the reason is unknown and two in Hama, one of them under torture in the basements of the intelligent services.
