The death toll in Syria on Thursday 24/07/2014 reached 56 deaths including ten children and five killed under torture.
In Damascus and its suburbs 23 civilians were killed including ten civilians from the town of Zabadeen that died as a result of the bombing of a land missile; among them four children. Additionally three civilians were killed in ongoing clashes in al-Ghouta and three were killed under torture in government security prisons. Three others were slaughtered with knives in Homs after a failed attempt to defect and a civilian was hit by a mortar shell centre of the capital. Furthermore a civilian died as a result of lack of medical supplies due to the siege imposed on al-Ghouta.
In Daraa 14 civilians were killed; including one died as a result of the shelling and 13 as a result of clashes between opposition and government forces.
Eight civilians were killed in Hama; including four in clashes at the rural fronts, three as a result of shelling and one killed under torture in security prisons.
The deaths of four civilians have been documented in Aleppo; three as a result of shelling including two children and one was shot by a sniper. Two were killed in Homs; a child shot by a sniper and the other died in clashes.
It has also been documented the deaths of three civilians in Idlib as a result of shelling including a child. Additionally two were killed in Ar-Raqqah; one died under torture in security prisons after his arrest in Aleppo a month ago and the other was killed at the hands of the ISIS and the charge: a media activist.
