The death toll on Wednesday 16/4/2014 reached 99 deaths, including four women and five children.
Twenty-one civilians were killed in the city of Damascus and its suburbs, including five civilians killed in the shelling on al-Zabdani (Rural Damascus) and four from Douma were shot by regime forces.
Among those killed, an engineer from al-Zabdani (Rural Damascus) died as a result of the bombing of regime forces on the city with heavy artillery and tanks. A Palestinian man in his forties from Al-Quneitra and a resident of al-Hajar al-Aswad (Damascus) died as a result of hunger and malnutrition because of the siege of the regime’s forces to the south of the capital. Furthermore two children from Aleppo died as a result of bombing of explosive barrels on the neighbourhood on 6/4/2014 and two men, a woman and two children from Mahmabil (Idlib) were killed at the hands of unidentified gunmen. Moreover a defected soldier from Madaya (Rural Damascus) was killed on 15/4/2014 in Homs province in clashes with regime forces and three civilians (including a woman) from rural Damascus were shot by regime forces at al-Wafideen camp (Rural Damascus).
Five were killed under torture; the first from Deir Azzour, two from Daraa and two others from al-Qasir (Rural Homs).
As a result of bombing of poisonous gases, a woman from Murk (Hama) died after being struck by poisonous chlorine gas in Kafr Zeita (Rural Hama) and a man from Harista (Rural Damascus) died from suffocation by poisonous gases that were launched by regime forces onto the city.
