Daily Reports on Violations of Human Rights in Syria: 18/03/2014

The death toll on 18/03/2014 reached 86 deaths including four women and 16 children.

Forty were killed in Aleppo, including ten killed in shelling on Sad al-Laws neighbourhood and six in Karam al-Beek district.
In Damascus and it suburbs, 17 were killed including six killed in shelling on the town of Yalda (Rural Damascus) and three children from Douma (Rural Damascus) killed by the siege.

Among those killed, three children from Douma (Rural Damascus) died as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege and four from al-Bukamal (Deir Azzour) were found dead in visible fields. Two from Idlib were killed by the targeting of a civilian car in Sahl al-Ghaab (Hama) as well as a man from al-Mazza (Damascus) that died as a result of a shell hitting al-Hal market. In addition a child from al-Tadamun district (Damascus) died as a result of malnutrition and dehydration and another child from al-Harra (Daraa) died as a result of the extreme cold weather on the Jordanian border after the Jordanian forces and border guards refused to allow her family to enter. A man from Raas al-Ma’rra (Rural Damascus) died of his wounds sustained on 16/03/2014 as a result of bombing of a bus, also a child from al-Sheikh Maqsud (Aleppo) died as a result of lack of medical supplies. Furthermore a university student from Aleppo died at the hands of Hezbollah forces in Lebanon and a man from Filun (Idlib) was shot by a sniper in the town.

Five were killed under torture; the first from Muhsin (Deir Azzour) killed after his imprisonment for four months in Damascus, the second from al-Shagour (Damascus) killed in Palestine prison (Damascus), the third from al-Midan (Damascus), the fourth from Tafs (Daraa) and the fifth from al-Zahra (Idlib).

As a result of bombing of explosive barrels, two were killed from al-Sheikh Khathar neighbourhood (Aleppo).

List of provinces according to numbers killed:

Aleppo: 40 including 9 children and a woman.
Damascus and its suburbs: 17 including 6 children, a woman and two killed under torture.
Daraa: 7 including a child and a man killed under torture.
Idlib: 6 including a man killed under torture.
Homs: 6 including 2 women.
Deir Azzour: 5
Hama: 4
Al-Suweida: 1

Total: 86 deaths.
