The death toll on Wednesday 12/03/2014 reached 68 deaths, including three women and four children.
Aleppo witnessed the largest number of deaths: 23 people were killed, including five handed over by the state security prison to the university hospital after they were killed under torture in regime prisons.
In Damascus and its suburbs 19 were killed, including four civilians killed in bombings on Barda valley (Rural Damascus).
Among the dead were two from Rural Damascus, a Palestinian resident of al-Hajar al-Aswad as well as a woman from Yarmouk camp that died as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed by regime forces. Additionally a man from Tal Rafa’t (Rural Aleppo) was found buried in the agricultural land on the outskirts of the town and has been bailed out by the civil defence. Furthermore, a man from Bustan al-Basha (Aleppo) was found dead in one of the houses and a man from al-Rahiba (Rural Damascus) was killed by a sniper. A civilian from Bustan al-Basha (Homs) was shot by an unknown source and a man from al-Sura (Daraa) died of wounds he sustained when his car exploded.
Eleven were killed under torture: the first from Sarmin (Idlib), two from Daraa, two from Rural Damascus, the sixth from Al-Suweida and five of those killed (including a woman) from Aleppo were killed under torture in regime detentions. Their bodies were found in a freezer in Aleppo University Hospital.
As a result of bombing of explosive barrels, two men from Aleppo and three from Rural Aleppo were killed.
