The death toll on Wednesday 5/03/2014 reached 59 deaths including two women and seven children.
The largest number of deaths was recorded in the city of Damascus, where 20 people were killed, including five killed as a result of the bombing on al-Atiba (Rural Damascus).
In Aleppo 18 people were killed, including six civilians died as a result of bombing of explosive barrels.
In Homs 10 people were killed, including five in al-Daar al-Kabira (Rural Homs) died in the bombings.
Among the dead were five from al-Atiba (Rural Damascus) killed in the region of Bi’r al-Qasf (Rural Damascus) in a landmine explosion ambush by regime forces. Additionally a man in his eighties and a man in his forties from Yarmouk camp died due to lack of food and medicine as a result of the blockade. A man from al-Bukamal (Deir Azzour) was killed after the Iraqi forces targeted and stormed the Syrian territory by bombing, as well as a detainee from Aleppo died in Aleppo central prison of Tuberculosis. Also a defected lieutenant from al-Thaba’a (Homs) was killed in Yabrud (Rural Damascus).
Six died under torture: the first a defected soldier from al-Tayba (Daraa), the second from Izra’ (Daraa), a child, a man from Ma’rrat Saydanaya (Rural Damascus), the fifth from Yabrud (Rural Damascus) killed in regime prisons after a month from his arrest in Damascus and the sixth from Deir Azzour, also a resident of Yarmouk camp (Damascus).
Five were shot by regime snipers; the first from Busra al-Sham (Daraa) shot in the southern neighbourhood, two from Aleppo shot by Karaaj al-Hajz sniper and the fourth from Arbeen (Rural Damascus) shot in al-Wifdan camp (Rural Damascus).
