The death toll on Monday 24/02/2014 reached 102 deaths, including five women and 15 children.
In Damascus and its suburbs 24 people were killed, amongst them 14 civilians that died after warplanes launched several raids on residential neighbourhoods in the town of al-Nashabia (Rural Damascus).
In Homs 15 people died including seven killed by bombing at Qal’at al-Hosn as well as four children killed by shelling on the city of Talbisa (Rural Homs).
Among the dead three men and two children from Tal Barak (Al-Hassaka) were executed on the grounds at the hands of the PKK, and a man from Soran (Hama) died of wounds sustained by a regime sniper. A defected sergeant from al-Qasir (Homs) died in clashes in al-Qalmun, as well as a woman from Darra Azza (Aleppo) killed on 18/02/2014 at the hands of gunmen in two cars in Jabal al-Zawiya. In addition a journalist from al-Sheikh Najar (Aleppo) died during his coverage of the clashes, and a man from al-Na’ima (Daraa) died as a result of explosive barrels.
Three were killed under torture; the first from Harbansfa (Hama), the second from Izra’ (Daraa) and the third from al-Sheikh Miskeen (Daraa) died in regime prisons after having endured a year of imprisonment.
