One hundred and thirteen civilians were killed in Syria on Sunday 1/12/2013, among them eight women and sixteen children.
The largest number killed were from Aleppo, in which 45 were killed, among them 29 that perished in shelling on the central market in the city of Al-Bab in rural Aleppo.
Forty-two were killed in Damascus, among them five that were killed by regime Security gunfire in Douma, two children (male and female) from al-Nabak that died as a result of shelling, and a man, woman and child from Awtaya that also during shelling.
In Idlib, nine were killed, among them five (a woman and four children) that fell during the shelling of one of the residential districts in the city of Kafranbel, rural Idlib.
And among those killed were two children (male and female) from al-Bab that died after they were strangled when the ruins of a building fell on them due to yesterday’s shelling, two children (male and female) from Bustan al-Qasr (Aleppo) that were killed by a stray bullet from an unknown source in the neighbourhood, a civilian from Douma who was killed by sniper gunfire in al-Wafideen Camp in rural Damascus, a paralysed child from Douma who died due to lack of medicine and medical services, and two from Homs (one of them a doctor) that were summarily executed by Shabiha thugs in Deir Atiah.
SHRC also documented the killing of two defected police men, the first from Sheikh Najjar in Aleppo that died due to shelling with barrels on the city of al-Sana’ah, and the second from ar-Ramliah in Hama that was killed by stray bullets. A Palestinian from Rukn al-Deen in Damascus also died under torture in regime prisons.
