Daily Report on Violations of Human Rights in Syria: 21/11/2013

One hundred and three civilians were killed in Syria on Thursday 21/11/2013, among them nine women and nineteen children.

The largest number killed were from Homs in which 36 were killed, among them 26 that died due to the severe regime shelling with mortar rockets which targeted the Haaj ‘Atif Square in Al-Insha’aat.

In Aleppo, 26 were killed, among them seven from the village of Sawran that died due to shelling with the use of explosive barrels on al-Jazmati district. A mother was killed alongside her unborn child and young female child due to the shelling on the city of al-Bab.

In Damascus, 14 were killed, among them three that died due to shelling on Babila and al-Nabak, and two children were killed as a result of shelling on al-Maliha.

And five were killed in Al-Hasaka when PKK forces raided the village of al-Aghbeesh.

And among those killed were two civilians from Taldo (Homs) that were executed. Their bodies were found in the form of scattered limbs in the woodlands of the village of Kafrnaan. Two children (male and female) from Aleppo died after they were poisoned by Carbon Monoxide which emanated from electricity generators used due to regime forces cutting off electricity supplies, a man in his seventies and a man in his forties from Mawrak (Hama) perished when shabiha thugs targeted their truck to pick the olive harvest, and a man in his fifties from rural Damascus died due to lack of medical supplies in the Eastern Ghouta. He was not allowed to exit the area for medication due to the regime imposed siege on the Eastern Ghouta. And finally, a civilian from Bustan al-Qasr in Aleppo was killed by a regime sniper as he walked to the Sukar Mosque in the district.

Five were killed under torture: the first was from Hawsh Arab in rural Damascus, the second- from Khan Sheikhoon (Idlib)- was arrested from his home in Damascus and died under torture in the Palestine Branch, the third was a mentally disabled man from Khan Sheikhoon, the fourth from al-Mayadeen in Deir Azzour died under torture in Branch 215 in Damascus on 7/10/2013, and the fifth was from al-Mazzeh, Damascus.

Aleppo: 26 including 2 women and 8 children
Damascus and its suburbs: 14 including 3 women and 2 children
Idlib: 8 including 2 that died under torture
Al-Hasaka: 5
Daraa: 4 including a child
Hama: 3
Ar-Raqqah: 3
Latakkia: 2
Deir Azzour: 1 that died under torture
Al-Quneitra: 1
