Fifty-eight civilians were killed in Syria on Saturday 5/11/2013, including four women and eight children.
The largest number of civilians killed was in Damascus and its suburbs, in which 16 were killed including three who died due to shelling on the town of Al-Moadamiya, as well as two children who died due to malnutrition as a result of the ongoing siege on Al-Ghouta.
In Homs, nine civilians were killed, among them three who died due to shelling to Al-Rastan and four who died under torture.
In Daraa, eight died, among them three who died due to shelling on Daraa al-Balad.
As for Idlib, seven were killed including two from Kafaroma and two children from Abu Al-Duhoor who died due to missiles launched on the village.
In Hama, six were killed in clashes.
And in Tartous, five from the Turkmanian village of al-Matras died when the village was targeted.
And among those who were killed was a child from Ma’arba (rural Damascus) who died due to injuries he had sustained from an explosion in the Rankous Mosque, as well as a child from Batna (rural Damascus) and two from Douma who died due to malnutrition as a result of the siege on the city. In the Yarmouk camp, the body of a man who was executed by the Syrian regime forces was discovered.
SHRC also documented the death of a defected Captain from Al-Rastan in Homs who was killed during the shelling on the city, as well as a defected Sergeant from Hayan, Aleppo, was died in the clashes at the Central Prison. A defected soldier from Hajira, rural Damascus, was killed in clashes at al-Samdaniya in Al-Qunietra and another defected soldier from Kanakir in rural Damascus was killed in clashes in Beit Jin.
Four were killed under torture: the first, a man in his fifties, from al-Quseir in Homs, and three others from al-Bayada in Homs.
Three were killed by snipers of the Syrian regime: the first from Bosr al-Hareer in Daraa, the second – from Ar-Raqqah- was killed by the sniper of the 17th Division many days ago, and the third Deir Azzour.
