The number of those killed in Syria on Tuesday 1/10/2013 reached 83 civilians, among them eight women and five children.
The province in which the largest number of civilians were killed was Daraa, in which 28 perished, including nine from the city of Tafs and three from al-Sanamein who died under torture in regime prisons in rural Damascus.
In Damascus and its suburbs, 17 were killed. Among them were four from Akobar (rural Damascus) who died due to a car explosion in Rankous on 27-9-2013. Two from Babila (rural Damascus) were also executed in a Syrian regime prison.
In Idlib, 13 were killed, 11 of them killed in the village of Jisr al-Shaghoor.
And in Aleppo, nine were killed, among them three who were killed by sniper fire at the Karraj al-Hijaz crossing.
In Hama, seven were killed, among them three from Kafr Nabuda who died due to shelling with mortar rockets on the village of al-Habeet in Idlib, as well as two from al-Manarah who died due to shelling on the village on 23-9-2013. In addition to that, two from al-Taminah in Hama died under torture in regime prisons in Damascus.
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) also documented the death of a media activist from Tafs in Daraa, who was killed as he covered the clashes taking place close to the city. A defected Major from Mahjah, Daraa, also fell during clashes at the Baldat al-Faqee’ checkpoint, as well as a defected lieutenant from Taseel (Daraa) who was killed in the clashes at the Masakin Jaleen checkpoint. Two Palestinians were also killed: the first from Daraa Camp died in clashes at Busra Square, and the second from Khan al-Sheikh died under torture.
Seven were killed under torture: three from al-Sanamein in Daraa who were killed in Syrian regime prisons in rural Damascus, the fourth a Palestinian from Khan al-Sheikh in rural Damascus, and the fifth a sergeant from Ain al-Fijah in Damascus. The sixth- from al-Tamina in Hama- was also killed in a regime prison in Damascus and the seventh, in his twenties and from Muhasan in Deir Azzour, was killed under torture in the air intelligence branch in Damascus.
Four were killed by sniper fire: the first a lady from al-Moadamiya in rural Damascus who died due to injuries she sustained after she was targeted by the sniper of the al-Sharqi neighbourhood. Three from Aleppo were also killed by the sniper stationed at the Karraj al-Hijaz crossing.
