The number of people killed in Syria on Thursday 3/10/2013 reached 78 civilians, among them six women and four children.
The largest number killed was in Damascus and its suburbs in which 15 civilians were killed, among them six who died under torture.
In al-Hasaka, ten were killed after they were ambushed by Syrian regime forces in Tal Baraak.
And in Idlib, ten were killed, among them a man from Kafranbel who was summarily executed with his son and daughter in an area close to Banyas which lies under the control of the Syrian regime.
In Daraa, ten were also killed: four of them were from Nawa, and among them two who were killed in clashes.
In Hama nine were killed, among them six from al-Jadu’iyaat (rural Hama) who were killed in clashes in Aleppo and two who were killed in clashes in Um al-Thuhoor (Idib).
In Aleppo eight were killed, among them four who died due to sniper fire.
And in Tartous, the Syrian regime committed a massacre in which it killed a child, two women and four others from Banyas who were residing in an Alawite village close Banyas.
And among those killed was a man from Kafr Batna in Damascus who was executed by regime fire at the Al-Wafidayn Camp Crossing in rural Damascus, as well as a man from Khan al-Subul in Idli who died due to the explosion of a bomb as an attempt was made to diffuse it. In Hama, a man from al-Ankawi was burnt by regime forces as he returned from As-Saqilbiah (rural Hama), two from al-Jaba in al-Quneitra were also executed by regime forces and a man from the village of Al-Rihab in Aleppo was killed and burnt in the village of Khanasir.
Overall, nine were killed under torture: the first a relief worker from Damascus who died under torture in a regime prison after he was arrested on 22-9-2013. His body was handed to his family a week later. The second was from Ain al-Fijah; the third and fourth from Kafr Batna, the fifth from Masraba and the sixth from Khan al-Sheikh (towns in rural Damascus). The seventh was from al-Ghouta in Homs, the eighth from the village of al-Samuma in Aleppo and the ninth from al-Baseera in Deir Azzour.
Altogether, five were killed due to sniper fire; the first from al-Wa’ar in Homs who was killed after targeted by the sniper at al-Basateen, the second who was in his twenties and from al-Jamiliah in Aleppo, was killed by a sniper at the Karaj al-Hajz Crossing. The third victim- in his forties and from Aleppo- was killed by sniper fire in the Al-Ramusiya area, and the fourth victim who was in his thirties and from Baza’ah in Aleppo died as a result of the injuries he sustained from sniper fire. The fifth victim was in his fifties and from Az-Zarbia in Aleppo. He died after he was shot by a sniper in al-Ra’s in the Al-Jadida neighbourhood in the old quarter of Aleppo.
