Seventy-five people were killed in Syria on 2/10/2013, among them five women and a child.
A fifth of those killed perished in Damascus and its suburbs, in which 15 civilians were killed, including a civilian from Yabroud, a child from Qatna and three from Dumar who were killed under torture.
In Homs, 14 were killed including thirteen in Tal Kalakh that died under torture in a military security branch.
In Idlib, 14 were killed including six that died in clashes in the village of Mawrak (Hama) and five that died in clashes in Jabal al-Arba’een.
In Aleppo, 14 were killed, among them two that were shot at by regime forces in Aleppo Central Prison, and two that fell under torture as well as two that perished after suffering from Tuberculosis in the same prison. All were buried in the same prison.
In Daraa, 13 were killed including three ladies from al-Faqee’ that were executed at the hands of the regime after their village was raided.
Among those who died today were a man and three women from al-Faqee’ in Daraa that were executed by regime forces when their village was raided, as well as a man from al-Taiba in Daraa who was assassinated by regime forces in front of his home. In Aleppo two men were shot at in the Aleppo Central Prison. They were also buried in the prison. In the same prison, two men died after battling tuberculosis. They too, were buried in the prison. A man from Barj Abdalu in Aleppo was also killed at the hands of the PKK after he refused to affiliate to them.
Twenty-one civilians died under torture today: the first from Yabroud (rural Damascus), the second a child from Qatna (rural Damascus) who died at a Military Security Detachment, and the third from al-Qusoor in Hama. In Aleppo, two died under torture at the Aleppo Central prison where they were buried, and in Dumar (Damascus), three fell under torture at the Military Security Branch 215. From Tal Kalakh (Homs), 13 were killed under torture at the Military Security Branch.
Three were killed by sniper fire: the first a Palestinian from the Al-Yarmouk Camp that was killed by a regime sniper at the al-Tadamun area, and the second a forty year old woman from al-Bayada in Aleppo who was killed by a sniper in the same area. The third victim was also from Aleppo and was killed by a regime sniper situated in the Al-Mahata al-Hararia area.
SHRC also documented the death of a media activist from Tafs (Daraa) who was killed whilst covering the clashes in the village of Tafs, as well as a defected soldier from al-Quria (Deir Azzour) who was killed in clashes in al-Hasaka, and a Palestinian from Al-Yarmouk Camp who was killed by sniper fire in the Tadamun area.
