The number of those killed in Syria on Sunday 29/9/2013 reached a toll of 82 deaths, among them four women and 18 children.
The highest number of deaths were recorded in Damascus and its suburbs in which 35 were killed, 11 of whom were killed in the village of Al-Bahariya in rural Damascus, five in the Qalamoon area, three died in the shelling which took place on al-Qaswah, three from Arabeen and three from al-Nasiriah.
In Ar-Raqqah 15 were killed among them 13 children who were killed due to an air raid which hit the the Ibn al-Tufayl Secondary School in the Corniche Street.
In Aleppo, nine were killed among them a woman in her sixties and a woman in her fifties and a child from Tal al-Dameen- all of whom died due to shelling which took place on 25/9/2013. Two children from the al-Bawabiah village in rural Aleppo also died due to shelling which took place on 27/9/2013.
In Deir Azzour, six fell among them five from Albokamal who died due to clashes in Alqalamoon (rural Damascus), and a media activist who died due to shelling on al-Khasaraat.
Among those killed was a member of staff and 13 children from Ar-Raqqah who were killed in an air raid which hit the Ibn Tufayl Secondary School in Corniche Street. In addition, a man was killed from Tafs (Daraa) in Jordan, from injuries he sustained as he was targeted whilst driving the injured to the hospital. A child from al-Lajah in Daraa was also killed due to an explosion of mines left by the Syrian regime army in the city of Ar-raheeba in rural Damascus. A man from I’zaaz in Aleppo was also killed due to a sniper shot which targeted him at the Sheikh Crossing on 7-9-2013.
SHRC also documented the death of three media activists: the first from Douma (rural Damascus) who was killed in al-Bahariah in clashes, the second from Deier Azzour who was killed in shelling on the al-Khasaraat and the third from Wadi al-Arab in Homs. An engineer from Daraa was also killed from Syrian army fire which targeted him in the Kaashif neighbourhood.
Two died under torture: one from Rankoos (rural Damascus) who lived in Barzah and the second from Tal Baraak in al-Hasaka who died under torture in the prisons of Damascus.
Three were killed due to sniper fire: the first from Daa’il (Daraa) who was hit by sniper fire in al-Tablayn crossing, and the second from al-Wa’ar in Homs, and the third from Haarim in Idlib who was killed at Bab Antakiya.
