The number of those killed in Syria on Saturday 28/9/2013 reached 74 civilians, among them three ladies and ten children.
The largest number of deaths occurred in the city of Damascus and its suburbs, and in which 28 were killed. Three were killed in clashes in Hamouriya, rural Damascus, and three died as a result of the shelling which took place on the city of Arbeen. Four were also killed due to the shelling on Al-Moadamiyah and three were killed in clashes in Douma (rural Damascus). A fourth was killed under torture, as well as three citizens from Al-Zabadani.
In Daraa, 18 were killed, among them three who died in clashes at Jamrak Daraa al-Qadeem.
In Hama, nine fell, among them three elderly men who were executed after the village of Ar-reehiyah was raided. Two also died under torture.
And in Homs, seven were killed among them three who perished due to the shelling on Qal’at al-Hisn.
Among those killed today was a child from rural Damascus who died due to lack of nutrition due to the siege imposed on the Eastern Ghouta area as well as a lady from Al-Moadamiya in rural Damascus who died due to lack of medicine- also due to the siege imposed on the town. Two children from A’qraba (Daraa) were killed due to the explosion of a landmine in the village. A seventy year old, eighty year old and ninety year old from Ar-Reeha in Hama were all executed on the hands of the Syrian regime forces after they raided the village. A man in Karneez, Hama, was also killed by the Syrian regime forces as they attempted stealing from his home. A defected soldier from Tadmur was also killed in clashes in Hama.
Five were killed under torture today: the first from Douma (rural Damascus), the second a lawyer from al-Zabadani (rural Damascus) who died under torture after he was arrested from a checkpoint due to refusing to give over his money to the officers there. The third was in his twenties and from Bab Qabli in Hama, and died under torture in one of the Security branches in Hama. The fourth was from al-Jarajima in Hama and the fifth from Aleppo.
Four citizens were killed due to sniper fire from the Syrian regime army. The first was from al-Sabeel in Daraa. He was killed by a sniper stationed in Daraa al-Mahata. The second was a child from Daraa al-Balad who was shot at by a regime sniper in the al-Manshiah neighbourhood. The third victim was from Tal Huwash in Hama, and the fourth a 30 year old man from Ba’adtali. He died in a Turkish hospital as a result of the injuries he sustained from a sniper bullet which targeted him in Karaj al-Hajz on 20-9-2013.
