Daily Report on Human Rights Violations in Syria 26/9/2013

The number of those killed in Syria on 26/9/2013 reached up to 70, among them three women and six children.

The highest number of deaths was recorded in the capital Damascus and its suburbs, in which 18 were killed, among them 10 from Dumar who died under torture in the Interrogation Branch 215.

In Daraa, thirteen were killed, amongst them five who were killed in the clashes in the old quarter of Daraa city, and three others who were killed due to the shelling which took place on Tareeq al-Sad.

In Idlib, 11 were killed.

In Hama, eight were killed, among them four under torture.

And in Ar-Raqqah, six were killed under the shelling of warplanes on al-Tabaqah. The shells fell on their cars, which led to the complete burning of all the cars.

And among those who were killed in Syria today, were six from Al-Tabaqa in Ar-Raqqah, who were burnt to death when their cars were shelled by warplanes of the Syrian regime. They were unable to be identified. In addition, five citizens from Atmah, Idlib, perished due to the shelling on their village by PKK forces. A citizen from rural Damascus was executed and his corpse found in the village of Jarjeer. The body was then transferred to Yabroud. A citizen from Mo’adamiyat al-Shaam, who required special care and needs, died due to a loss in nutrition as a result of the siege imposed on the town. Moreover, two children from Al-Sabuniya, Hama, died in an explosion in the neighbourhood, and a citizen from Al-Sahara in Aleppo was killed in clashes in Al-Hasaka on 25-9-2013.

Eighteen civilians were killed under torture altogether: the first from rural Damascus who died in Branch 215 after being arrested from the Lebanese border, the second from Idlib but living in Dumar, Damascus, also killed in branch 215. The third from Bab al-Jisr in Hama died after two months of imprisonment. Three citizens from Hama who lived in Nahr Aisha in Damascus died under torture after an imprisonment which lasted a month. The seventh was from Jawzat al-Shaykh in Homs, and the eighth from al-Bareej in Homs, and the ninth a Palestinian from the residents of Al-Mazzah in Damascus, as well as nine from Dumar, all of whom died under torture in the branch 215.

Four were killed by sniper fire, the first from Duma (rural Damascus), the second from Kafr Nabuda (Hama), and the third and fourth from Aleppo.
