The Syrian Security forces have refused the lawyer Muhammad Abdul-Majeed Manjounah travel to Yemen on 8/5/2008, to participate in the Pan-Arab conference which begins today, on 9/5/2008. Manjounah is the Deputy General Secretary of the Democratic Arab Socialist Union, and a member of the General Secretariat of the Pan-Arab Conference

The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) condemns the Syrian Authorities denial of granting Manjounah the right to travel. SHRC also calls upon the Syrian Authorities to stop all measures that deny citizens from travelling, and to put an end to the oppressive practises taken against them.
