SHRC
SHRC expresses its deepest heartfelt sorrow and sympathy towards all innocent victims of the horrific terrorist attacks against crowded buildings in the United States of America using hijacked airplanes and offers its sincere condolences to the victims’ families.
While we, at SHRC, feel pain and sorrow for the attack victims, which targeted innocent passengers in board the planes and workers just about to start their workday, we are concerned and troubled about the prospects of attacks against other innocent people, groups, communities, or individuals just because they happened to belong to a certain ethnic background or religious belief. We are troubled by reports of attacks and a sudden rise in hate crimes against individuals who happened to be of a Middle-Eastern descent and regard such crimes as terrorist attacks that add an unneeded complexity to the issue and waste lives of innocent civilians who have nothing to do with the planning and execution of the terror attacks in the US or abroad.
We call for investigating, finding and arresting the perpetrators so they could be brought to justice without getting drifted behind the messages calling for defamation, blind racism, or religious hatred, as expressed in several opportunistic news media outlets against Arabs and/or Muslims. We condemn all such opportunistic attempts to misinterpret the events to advertise a hidden agenda of fanatic hate and racial discrimination.
A life of prosperity along with safety, dignity and freedom is a basic human right, which SHRC stands for and endorses for all humanity.
