The Syrian human Rights Committee was informed by an informed source in Damascus that the Sheikh  and religious scholar Yusuf Omar Mobayyedh was arrested by the Syrian security authorities and that he was driven to unknown place.  The source told that the Sheikh is well known for his moderation, vast knowledge and readership, and renouncing extremism and violence. In addition, he has compiled numerous useful books

SHRC calls upon the Syrian authorities to immediately release Sheikh Yusuf Omar Mobayyedh along with all prisoners of conscience in the Syrian prisons.
