Daily Report of Violations taking place in Syrian 19/12/2012

The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) documented the following violations on 19/12/2012 in Syria:

Rural Damascus
Kafar Batna: the main marketplace in the city was shelled with rockets by the Syrian military, resulting in numerous injuries including among children, in addition to great fear among the civilians of the area
Arbeen: the city was exposed to two attacks by MiG fighter jets belonging to the Syrian army, resulting in deaths and injuries.
Harasta, Misraba and Ain Tarma: Shelling and bombardment led to the destruction of some civilian houses
Al-Moadamiyyah: the city was subjected to shelling which led to the death of tens of civilians

Damascus
Yarmouk Camp: Exposed to shelling  and tank bombardment by the Syrian military. Activists also related to SHRC that 50% of the residents of the camp had fled and more than 1000 displaced Palestinians had left to Lebanon
Al-Hajar al-Aswad and Maliha: subjected to tank bombardment by the Syrian military
Al-Qaboon: shelling by fighter planes of the regime led to the destruction of civilian homes and trading areas.

Aleppo
Salahadin District: The district was subjected to shelling and tank bombardment by the Syrian military
Al-Haidariyah and Rashdan: The district was subjected to shelling and tank bombardment by the Syrian military
Aziza: A car exploded in the area, alongside shelling from regime planes. Initial figures reveal that 40 were killed and tens injured. The names documented are in the Arabic section.
Karm al-Jabal: was subjected to shelling and tank bombardment

Rural Aleppo: SHRC documented that the areas of Andaan, Hareitan, Bayanoon and Hayaan were exposed to shelling and tank bombardment by the Syrian military
Al-Sfeira: Civilians were subjected to shelling by the Syrian military.

Daraa
Al-Na’eemah: the city was hit by mortar rockets from the Syrian army
Taseel and Um al-Ma’athin: Subjected to tank bombardment by the Syrian military
Da’il, Busra and Teebah: Subjected to intense shelling. War planes dropped explosive barrels onto the towns
Tareeq al-Sad: Subjected to bombardment and shelling by the Syrian Military
Inkhil: Subjected to bombardment and shelling by the Syrian Military
Saida: Abdu Zubaidi (known as Abu Firas) was killed by fire from the Syrian military forces
Naziheen Camp: Activists informed SHRC of the death of a father and his four daughters who were summarily executed by the Syrian Military forces
SHRC also documented the death of 25 victims, among them children, due to summary executions in the past three days. In the past couple of days Daraa has witnessed a mass exodus of families fleeing areas which are heavily shelled to areas which are exposed to less shelling. This is due to the demolishing of homes after heavy shelling and burning carried out by the Syrian regime military forces. Numerous mosques are now full of displaced families that have ran away.
Nahita Village:13 were killed after division 34 was attacked, which belonged to the village. Names of those killed are in the Arabic Section.


Homs
Al-Rastan: was subjected to mortar rockets. Many civilians were injured as a result
Sultaniah and Baba Amr: Subjected to shelling and tank bombardment
SHRC documented the killing of Samir Milad from Deir Ba’alba at the hands of the Syrian regime.
Al-Qusair: SHRC documented the killing of Iman Badr al-Atr after a sniper opened fire on her
Al-Sa’an Village: Subjected to shelling by the Syrian military. Homes and farms were also exposed to the opening of fire from the checkpoints in the area.

Deir Ezzor:
Al-Huweiqah, Sheikh Yasin, al-Hamidiah and al-Khasaraat village in Deir Ezzor were exposed to shelling by the Syrian military which led to the demolishing of many homes and shops in these cities. SHRC also documented the death of Obada Zuheir al-Mansour and Jabir Hasan al-Mut’ab on the hands of the Syrian regime

Hama
Southern rural Hama: SHRC documented the disappearance of ten employees of the al-Harariya station in Tal Qirtal by the Shabiha. Their names are:
1- Khalil Khalil
2- Mahmoud Hamada
3- Hasan al-Yasin
4- Ratib al-Khalaf
5- Khalid Daman

Idlib:
SHRC documented that Ma’arat al-No’man, Banash, Tal Mans, Jarjanaaz, Jisr al-Shaghoor and Kafr Ruma were exposed to shelling and bombardment by the Syrian military, which led to the destruction of many civilian homes in these areas.

Lattakia:
SHRC documented that Hamam, Rabiah and the village of Durain were exposed to shelling and bombardment by the Syrian military forces.

Overall, SHRC documented the death of 132 people, among them seven children and 3 women. The victims in each province are as follows:
Damascus and its suburbs: 47, among them 6 were summarily executed by the military forces
Aleppo: 46, 40 killed in a car explosion
Daraa: 18
Hama: 6
Deir Ezzor: 6
Homs: 5
Idlib: 3
Al-Suwaida: 1
