Urgent Call to release the Citizen Natheer Halabi
A closely informed source has revealed that the citizen Natheer Halabi was arrested on 25/3/2011 by the Military Security Intelligence, after he took part in a protest in support of Dar'a which took place following Friday Prayers in Noor al-Shuhadaa' Mosque in Aleppo. Following his arrest, his house was raided and his personal computer seized.
Natheer Halabi is a Primary School teacher. He has a qualification in Arabic Literature and is a father to three children.
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) calls upon the Syrian authorities to immediately release Natheer Halabi and all prisoners of conscience. SHRC also expresses its worry at his detainment in repressive circumstances in which detainees are subjected to torture and ill treatment, and requests that they are not subjected to such treatment or attacked whilst practicing their constitutional peaceful rights.
