Brutal Massacre in Alfan, Rural Hama
The village of North Alfan in Rural Hama was subjected today, (Sunday 2/9/2012) to a brutal massacre when the security forces and Shabiha attacked the village and killed 35 civilians, all from among the same families of the village. Nine were identified as being from the family of al-Khaleef, two from al-Ali family, and two from al-Abeed family, and it is thought that there are many more due to bodies still unfound in the farmlands due to the intense and arbitrary shelling on the village.
The names of victims identified so far today include:
1. Hassan Ali Khleef - killed with 3 of his brothers 2.Abdul Qahhar Ali Khleef - killed with 3 of his brothers 3. Sarhan Ali Khleef - killed with 3 of his brothers 4. Abdullah Ali Khleef - killed with 3 of his brothers 5. Fadi Mohamad Khleef - killed with 2 of his brothers 6. Ahmed Mohammad Khleef - killed with 2 of his brothers 7.Abdul Razzak Mohammad Khleef - killed with 2 of his brothers 8. Kan'an Hassan Khleef - killed with his brother 9. Ali Hassan Khleef - killed with his brother 10.Nour al Deen Obaid al-Ali - killed with his brother 11.Abdullah Obaid al-Ali - killed with his brother 12. Abdul Kareem Obaid al-Ali - killed with his brother 13. Mohammad Ali al-Obaid - killed with his brother 14. Abdul Mo'een Abdulhussain 15. Thelji Khalaf al-Obaid 16. Akram Mahmoud al-Omar 17. Humam Abdul Hadi al-Hussain 18. Hussain Abdul Aziz al-Hussain 19. Ahmad Hussain al-Mohammad 20. Mohammad Khaled al-Khalifa 21. Salloum Jasem al-Ahmed
The Syrian Human Rights Committee strongly condemns this horrific massacre and holds the Syrian regime responsible, repeating its call to the international community to take immediate measurements in protecting civilians. If this does not happen, the massacres, genocide and war crimes committed by the Syrian regime will continue.
