Eleven Refugee tents burnt in Lebanon

Eleven tents in which Syrian refugees in Lebanon were staying in, in the town of Tal Humiri (close to the town of al-Abbudiyah in Akkaar, North Lebanon) were burnt yesterday by an unknown group of people. The Lebanese forces rushed to put off the fire and provide their help to the refugees.

It should be noted, that according to UN statistics, the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon are approximately 38,000, whereas the unofficial statistics predicts that there are around 100,000 refugees, scattered in tents, schools and with relatives. And there are some even living in flats and hotels for rent.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) holds the Syrian regime and its Shabiha in Lebanon responsible for the incident, and calls upon the international community to protect the displaced and refugees who have fled from the violence which the citizens inside Syria are being subjected to.
