The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) has watched a video on the Syrian website “Cham Tube”, in which some Easter celebrations were taking place early April in a Church courtyard at Latakia. In this video, tens of youth open extensive fire using guns and rifles, of the type that is used by armed forces and intelligence, and poses a threat and danger to the lives of neighbours and those in the immediate vicinity.

SHRC expresses its concern at this extensive use of opening fire and bullets which can endanger the lives of safe neighbours, and scare them, particularly when used in a careless manner. SHRC is also concerned at the lack of law on the use of guns and rifles in this manner, and hopes that such equipment is directed and used exclusively in the training fields and for the defence of the country instead.
