Referring to the Syrian Human Rights Committee’s call on 31/5/2009, it has been learnt from an informed source that the Syrian authorities have released the detained youth Usama Ali Meri al-Chidon (26 years) from Idlib province on 26/10/2009. He was arrested on 11/3/2009 upon arriving at the Syrian borders coming from Jordan.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee has welcomed this release and requested that all detainees who were forced to live outside their country should be released immediately, to stop arresting those returning to their country and to repel all exceptional laws sanctioned to hinder their normal return to their homeland.
