New Massacres in Damascus and other cities

Bashar al-Asad’s forces have committed massacres and the execution of tens of civilians on the first day of the mission of the UN representative al-Akhdar al-Ibrahimi, in a heated move to kill, gain more ground, and bomb border crossings in the north and south of the country. The number of victims today (15/9/2012) has reached more than 150, as a result of the violence exercised by the regime against civilians.

Field activists have reported the death of 9 victims in Saraqib (Rural Idlib), 5 from the same family in al-Ghaab valley (Rural Hama) and 6 in Aleppo due to air bombardment. In addition, 6 civilians in the Jobar neighbourhood in Damascus were executed close to the “Anees” station. The bodies cannot be removed from their places, despite attempts. Seven civilians were also killed by sniper fire in the Hajar al-Aswad district in Damascus, whilst 17 civilian bodies were found in the same district, victims of a previous summary execution. The regime forces also executed 20 civilians in al-Tadamun district, Damascus.

Further reports documented the death of 3 civilians in Homs, 3 in Deir Ezzour, 4 in Daraa, 5 in Idlib, and 5 in Hama.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC), whose number of calls to the International Community to protect civilians and stop violence against them, and to put an end to air bombardment and the use of heavy artillery which are destroying cities and villages on the heads of its inhabitants, have been exasperated, does not find any alternative except to call and call once again, in the hope that someone with the a spirit of justice and will to implement humanitarian and international laws will be moved, before the Syrian people are wiped out and Syria is destroyed at the hands of the forces of Bashar al-Asad.
