A Call of Help from those who have remained among the families of Mu’adammiyat al-Shaam

Mu’adammiyat al-Shaam (Rural Damascus) is undergoing a very tragic situation, due to the following:

1- Over 60% of the city has been destroyed as a result of the continuous shelling and bombing it is being subjected to
2- More than 85000 people have fled from the city due to the continuous savage and arbitrary shelling and the massacres
3- More than 131 martyrs have fallen in the last couple of hours
4- More than 1000 are injured and vulnerable to death due to lack of medical supplies and the only hospital in the city being destroyed
5- The entrapment of over 10,000 civilians, threatened with genocide by the army and Shabiha
6- More than 1500 suffer from chronic diseases (Heart, blood pressure, diabetes etc) and are vulnerable to death
7- Food and medical aid is being prohibited from entering the city by the army, security forces and regime organisations
8- Water and electricity cut off from the city, as well as other basics needed for survival

As a result of the above, we declare the city of Mu’adammiyat al-Shaam as a disaster stricken area in line with international standards. We call upon the international and humanitarian organisations, as well as civil and governmental organisations to immediately act with all power they enjoy to stop the brutal attack on the city and stop the genocide which the city is being subjected to.
