Brutal Massacre at Al-Tadamon Neighbourhood in Damascus

Gangs of Shabiha and security supported by the Syrian regular army committed yesterday a new massacre at Al-Tadamon neighbourhood in Damascus which left at least 15 civillian victims including the imam and speaker of Al-Zubair Mosque Sheikh Ahmad Saleh Alhamad and his sons Noor and Mos’ab and other members of the worshippers. Their bodies were left in front of the mosque for many hours before they were evacuated because of the presence of Shabiha and security.

The massacre took place when gangs of Shabiha and security burst into the area and started shooting at the residents, raiding the neighbourhood’s houses and indiscriminately executing civillians. In front of the aforesaid mosque they executed the imam, his sons and some worshippers as they conclude their congregation.

The Syrian human rights committee (SHRC) unequivocally condemns this brutal massacre and request the international community represented by UN organisations to investigate the crimes and massacres perpetrated by the Syrian authority and bring criminals, commanders and executors, to justice; to find a quick mechanism to fulfil this end; to stop giving new chances to allow the let of Syrian blood; and to act immediately to prevent the occurrence of new massacres
