SHRC
Record of the Martyrs of July 2012
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) has obtained a record of 4372 names- civilians killed at the hands of the Syrian regime forces in July 2012. To date, this is the largest number of victims killed in one month since the beginning of the revolution for freedom and dignity, which began in March 2011. Amongst those who were killed, 401 are women and 346 are children under the age of sixteen.
These terrifyingly large numbers of civilian victims, which fall each day due to the death machines owned and employed by the Syrian regime, without doubt, shakes the human conscience. There is no excuse for this brutal violence which the Syrian regime began using and has continued to do so. It is incumbent upon those whom the matter concerns in the United Nations and its organisations to take immediate action to stop this daily killing, and to activate the tools of law and justice to investigate into what is happening on the ground and bring all criminals to justice.
