Captain Responsible for Houla Massacre Named

The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) has gained information from a number of sources which have revealed that the man immediately in charge of the Houla Massacre (25 May 2012) is Captain Razi Saafi Ali. He is from the fourth Armoured Division, Regiment 555 stationed at Samiriya, Brigade 86.

According to best documented sources, the Houla Massacre, which was perpetrated by the Syrian regime in the area of al-Houla plain, west of Homs), killed 108 victims, among them 49 children and 34 women.

Despite the fact that a report was released following an investigation by a UN independent commission, blaming the Syrian regime for the massacre, the names of those who carried out this horrific massacre, ordered by Bashar Al-Asad and his brother Maher were not revealed.
SHRC calls upon the international legal parties to add the name of the captain Razi Saafi Ali to the list of those wanted by the international criminal court, accused of committing genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. SHRC also calls for the names of the other perpetrators to be made known and that they are sent to the international court.
