Press Release on the occasion of issuing Decree 22

The Syrian Human Rights Committee considered the amnesty decree No. 22 issued yesterday positive if completed and extended to include the prisoners of conscience, political detainees and the forced exiles.

SHRC called in this context upon the president of the republic Bashar al-Asad to join the initiatives of amnesty and reconciliations that spread at present in the region. The committee said that a social relaxation could be brought about by issuing an unconditional amnesty ,ending the dossier of political and security arrests and repealing the laws that condemns to death the mere intellectual affiliation
