Daily Report of Human Rights Violations in Syria 25/12/2012
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) documented a number of violations on the 25/12/2012. The below report provides more information.
Damascus Jobar: subjected to mortar rockets and bombardment from the Syrian military forces, resulting in many injuries and the death of Basma Anwar Hawara Al-Asaali: subjected to mortar rockets and tank bombardment by the Syrian military forces Al-Hajar al-Aswad: subjected to mortar rockets and bombardment from the Syrian military forces
Rural Damascus Darayya: subjected to two horrific massacres, in which more than 20 died and tens were injured- see other press release for further details and names. Yabroud: subjected to shelling from the Syrian military forces, which led to the death of Mohammed Khalid Amer, left many injured, and destroyed a number of homes Al-Mo’adamiyyah: A horrific massacre in which 17 civilians were summarily executed, including a father and eight children. The city was also subjected to heavy bombardment which led to great destruction in the area and in civilian homes. Two bodies were also found close to a checkpoint, increasing the number of those killed to 19. Arbeen, Jisreen, Hujeirat al-Balad and Douma were also subjected to shelling and bombardment by the Syrian military forces.
Homs Al-Rastan: the city was subjected to bombardment and phosphorous bombs by the Syrian military, which led to injuries as well as a number of cases of civilians that died due to strangulation. Al-Dar al-Kabeera: subjected to shelling and bombardment. One youth was burnt in the face, and numerous homes were destroyed. Talbisah: in its continuous policy of targeting bakeries, the Syrian military shelled a bakery, in which many were killed amongst them children, and a large number injured The old districts of Homs, as well as al-Houla, Deir Ba’alba, al-Quseir, al-Hasiniah and al-Jusiah were also subjected to shelling and bombardment, which led to the death of civilians, injuries, as well as the destruction of homes.
SHRC documented the names of the following victims: 1- Omar Abdulkareem al-Ja’oor (Child, al-Quseir) 2- Ibrahim Abdul Khaliq al-Ma’oori (al-Qaryatain) 3- Nisreen Mohammed Khalaf (Child, al-Quseir) 4- Khalid Walid al-Hujeiri (killed on Lebanese border, of Lebanese origin) 5- Abdul Wahab Lami’ Bakoor (Child- 3 years. Died due to shelling on bakery in Talbisah) 6- Mohammed Omar Nafi’ al-Naji (Child. Died due to shelling on bakery in Talbisah) 7- Anas Khalid al-Bazazi (Deir Ba’alba) 8- Mohammed Mustafa Ibrahim (Houla) 9- Abdul Salaam Mahmoud al-Masri (Child, al-Houla) 10- Mahna Nasir Abbas 11- Safwan Naji Kan’an (Deir Ba’alba) 12- Muna Safook (Deir Ba’alba) 13- Mariam al-Nasir (Deir Ba’alba) 14- Mohammed Khalid al-Amer (al-Qaryatain)
Daraa Tafas: the military forces committed a horrific massacre in which 11 were killed and more than 20 were injured, among them critical injuries due to arbitrary shelling on civilian homes. SHRC has documented the names of the following victims: 1- Malak Ra’fat al-Rabdawi (child) 2- Basil Dawud Harithain 3- Abdul Bari Ali al-Qahwaji 4- Tayba Nasir al-Rabdawi (child) 5- Azurda Mohammed al-Bardan 6- Mohammed Ameen Ali al-Hourani (child) 7- Alaa’ Ahmed al-Najjar 8- Basil Dawud Haridain 9- Ahmed Kamil al-Bardan 10- Ahmed Mohammed Salim al-Rabdawi 11- Unknown
The cities of Azra’, Bosra al-Shaam, Tal Shihab and Sheikh Miskeen were also subjected to shelling by rockets and military planes of the Syrian military forces. Other victims whose names were documented in Daraa include:
1- Khalid Ibrahim al-Qaddah (Al-Harrak, Summarily executed) 2- Mrs Konah (wife of Riziq al-Sakran, who was killed by the Assad forces- killed due to arbitrary shelling) 3- Shakir Mohammed al-Hasan al-Mahameed (Daraa al-Balad, killed by sniper fire)
Deir Ezzor Al-Baseerah: Another bakery massacre, in which more than 15 were killed, after a group of civilians standing at the doors of a bakery waiting for their turn to receive bread were deliberately targeted and bombed. SHRC documented the following names of those killed: 1- Ahmed al-Nayif 2- Suleiman Fahd al-Nayif 3- Amer Khalaf al-Nayif 4- Khalid Walid al-Zaid 5- Fakhriyah Salih al-Nayif 6- Tal’at Adullah al-Shahood 7- Nouri al-Baradi al-Ghadban 8- Lu’ay Khidr al-Salih 9- Hasan al-Khalid al-Sha’lan 10- Issam Hawwash al-Khalaf 11- Mahmoud Hamid al-Sayyid 12- Adnan Majid al-Zumar 13- Mohammed Maher al-Zaki 14- Mohammed al-Faraj (child) 15- Abdul Rahman al-Haaj Mustafa These are the names documented to date, although activists have reported that there are dead beneath the rubble that are still being searched for. Al-Huweiqah: the city was subjected to shelling by war planes of the Syrian regime.
Aleppo Masakin Hanano: the district was subjected to shelling by the Syrian regime forces, which led to the destruction of parts of buildings Tareeq al-Bab: was subjected to mortar rockets by the Syrian regime forces, which led to the killing if civilians, injuries and the destruction of homes.
Idlib Jisr al-Shaghoor, Ma’arat al-Nouman, Ma’arat Ma’sareen, Khan Shaikhoon and Kafranbel were subjected to tank bombardment which led to the killing of civilians and injuries amongst civilians. SHRC documented the killing of: 1- Ghazwan Marwan al-Alwani 2- Zakwan Marwan al-Alwani 3- Mudhir Adnan al-Alwani All are from Ma’arat al-Nouman and were killed under torture at a checkpoint in the city of Hama by the Syrian regime soldiers.

The total outcome for those killed in Syria today by the Syrian regime are 150, amongst them 8 children and 7 women. Damascus and its suburbs: 55 Deir Ezzor: 23 Hama: 18 Aleppo: 14 Homs: 14 Daraa: 11 Idlib: 5 Al-Quneitra: 5 Ar-Raqqah: 3 Al-Suweida: 1 Lattakia: 1
