A Closely related source has reported that the dual Syrian and Swiss Citizen, Patricia Dabboor Ayyash, was arrested upon her immediate arrival at Damascus International Airport from Geneva at 11pm, Wednesday 4/7/2007. She was taken to the al-Fayhaa' Branch which belongs to the Political Security in the Syrian Capital, Damascus.
The source also reported that Patricia Dabboor Ayyash is married and a mother of five children. She is the Vice-President of the Swiss Information Society.
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) considers this arrest as arbitrary, repressive and illegal; and calls upon the Syrian Authorities to immediately release Miss Patricia Dabboor Ayyash and put an end to all sorts of arbitrary arrests.
SHRC also appeals to all local and international human rights organisations to work for the release of the abovementioned detainee and to campaign for an end to arbitrary arrests in Syria.
