Abduction and Murder of Eight Syrians in Iraq
SHRC

With reference to the statement issued yesterday by the Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) on the abduction of the General Ahmed Tarmanini, it has been revealed that the number of Syrians abducted and murdered on the 21/12/2006 were in fact eight. They are: Hussein al-Jabouri, Abdullah Karkab al-Marsoumi, Karkab al-Marsoumi, Ibrahim Jadou' al-Marsoumi, Khalaf Alyuwi, Khidr Hamad al-Hussein and Ali Nasir, in addition to the General Tarmanini of course.

SHRC, which has condemned this barbarity and terrorisation of militias with sectarian inclinations, requests and will continue to request of the Iraqi government to arrest the culprits and bring them to justice. On the other hand, SHRC also bears the Syrian regime the responsibility of the deaths of these men as it refused to allow them to return to their country and discarded its responsibilities towards its citizens, even conspiring against them.
