Campaigning to expose human rights violations in Syria
Hussein Dawood was detained upon arrival to Damascus International Airport on 10/12/2000, following his deportation by German Authorities having denied asylum in Germany. Following his detention, Mr. Dawood disappeared in jail and some reports surfaced telling of his exposure to severe physical torture. Some reports even indicated that he died under torture . At last, the case saw some action following an urgent appeal by SHRC to all concerned authorities and human rights organizations, which resulted in obtaining this news about his status.
